“Roxy is definitely worth investing in for health and fitness (and she’s so supportive and lovely your mental health will benefit too). She has supported me before, during and after several pregnancies to maintain, regain and/or retrain my strength and fitness. And, she’ll even hold the baby, or play with a toddler or two whilst we’re training! She’s totally supportive of wherever I’ve been at, health wise, and in using her knowledge and skills to help me reach my goals. She’s amazing!!”
Much as I tried not to take these comments to heart, they did affect my body confidence (which had never been that great anyway!). The one NHS Physio appointment I had was not enough to motivate me to make the changes I needed to, but booking a regular 1:1 PT session with Roxy ensured that working towards the changes I hoped for became a priority.
Almost a year on, I’m so glad I began PT sessions with Roxy. Booking ahead means I’m committed to show up and do the workout. Roxy is really relaxed and friendly, and although I was nervous at first (I’ve never been a sporty person!), she soon put me at ease. Roxy initially planned sessions to target my abdominal muscles, pelvic floor and posture, and I fixed my tummy within the first 3 months!
Since then, we’ve been working on building my muscle mass, and I’m so proud of my muscles, and what I’ve achieved, which I never thought possible! An added bonus is that I’m pain free. I had been living with neck, shoulder and head pain daily for several years, which was triggered by tension caused by a stressful time. I am no longer affected by this, so my PT sessions have been positive for me in so many ways.”
I was already over 60, & very overweight when I was introduced to Rox. I’d given up on group exercise (some I couldn’t keep up with; others had caused injury) so I left them feeling worse than on arrival.
My goal was simply to not hold my daughter back on a planned trip to Paris where a lot of walking was foreseen!
Rox found my level & encouraged me onwards little-by-little; adapting exercises for my damaged wrist & wonky knees when they were playing up. She experimented with different stretches until she found the ones that worked for me.
I’ve never left depressed that I couldn’t do something. I’ve often left exhausted but always feeling “I did it!”
As for Paris…
Not only did I keep up but I climbed 20 metres upstairs (no stopping) out of the Paris catacombs & didn’t need to collapse on the (mainly occupied) seats at the exit!
